Behavioral Reaction
- You can only observe someone’s behavior.
- Visual behavior.
- Verbal behavior.
- Physical behavior.
- A person in authority can only react to someone’s behavior.
- If a person demonstrates erratic or threatening behavior and fails to comply with instructions from a person in authority; then, the person in authority must appropriately react to the demonstrated behavior.
- Failure to react appropriately may endanger others or themselves.
- Regarding several high-profile cases involving officers, sworn to uphold the law, note the following:
- Little is ever mentioned about the individual’s behavior prior to the involvement of officers.
- Less seems to be mentioned about any toxicology reports resulting from the incidents.
- If one race appears to be targeted over others, could it be due to their behavioral traits towards authority figures?
- Or could it be their own behavioral tendencies towards another race?
- Regarding the officer’s reaction to observed behavior:
- They only reacted to demonstrated behavior.
- In a micro-second, failure to react could have resulted in injury or death to themselves or others.
- I remember getting ‘the talk’ when I was young and dumb; and, I have more than one scar for not heeding wise counsel.
- The ‘talk’ is not unique to any race, it is called common courtesy or respect.
- In summation:
- An individual’s behavior determines corporate reaction.
- If everyone acted responsibly, there would be no need for authority or law.
- Unfortunately, in most, possibly all, of these high-profile cases, the individual’s behavior warranted interaction with officers of authority and the individual failed to comply with said authority.
- Been there… done that… it is sad some people will never learn & others will never get it… treat everyone like you want to be treated… msd
